  • Hole 11 – Par 3 Into the wind club selection is important. It is best to hit the middle right as the left side may drain to the lake. You will not be happy if you’re short and in front of the bunker. Other than these small challenges, fire away at the easiest hole on the course.

  • Hole 15 - Par 4 A magnificent view of the fairway and the hills of Rancho Mission Viejo is disturbed only by the water hazard that sits 60 yards from the center of the green. Hit a draw down the right or a fade down the left and you can have a nice approach shot to the green. Don’t be short on your approach as the slope will carry the ball in to the hazard and you will need to reload from the drop area. The grass waste bunker to the right is to be avoided as balls run quickly right to left towards the hazard.

  • Hole 17 – Par 4 Aim your tee shot towards the tower that is partially obscured in the distance. OB sits to the right of the cart path and red stakes are left of the bunkers. If you can hit a rope over the right edge of the front bunker the green opens up nicely. The two tiered green gives yet another opportunity for shot making. If the flag is left, hit the middle and it will drain down towards the pin.

  • Hole 18 – Par 4 Enjoy the spectacular view of Dana Point Harbor from the upper tee box and then fire away at this lovely finishing hole. The bunker at the left sits 155 from the center and guards some shots from going OB. When hitting in to the green don’t over club this downhill shot as OB is marked by the cart path. If the flag is in the bowl to the left aim left, short of the middle and let it drain towards the pin.
